Ray Canfield | V.P. Technical Division, Canfield CyberDefense Group (CCG)

Since 2010, Mr. Canfield has led the pioneering efforts of Canfield CyberDefense Group in producing a cloud data analytics platform and framework architectures for the industry- He currently leads all data analytics development products and guides team development, implementation, and continued software enhancements for CCG at Canfield CyberDefense Group (CCG, as well.

Mr. Canfield is the architect of Phen.AI which he has 3 US patents.

Phen.AI provides dynamic AI across multi-disciplinary fields. These include Cyber Security and providing antigenic and composite agents, ISR (Surveillance and Reconnaissance), vehicle and robotic systems, and traditional chat systems.

As Technical Director at CCG, Mr. Canfield brings broad experience in supporting complex information technology and assurance projects and operations.

Mr. Canfield’s experiences include standing up the operations for DIGEX (1995-98) , establishing the first managed hosting company on the internet, and setting the tone for how the internet datacenter operations run today.

Mr. Canfield served as a lead programmer for Apple Computers through the first release of the OS-X operating system (1998-99).

While at the Census Bureau in 2003-2006, Mr. Canfield managed system security, including scans, monitoring, administration, and maintenance of the Bureau’s key operating IT infrastructure.

Mr. Canfield was also a Software Developer at Worldwide Technology (WWT), where he worked with a “near-real-time” inventory system to track hundreds of sites containing thousands of systems.

In 2025, he continued his teaching cyber training classes to the US Army on Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and cyber security (2017-2025).

 

EDUCATION:

BSCS – Mr. Canfield earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (BSCS) with a concentration in Artificial Intelligence at Lenoir Rhyne College in Hickory, NC.

Stanford University – He also completed multiple AI/ML training courses through Stanford University/Coursera in 2024, earning the highest marks, while developing/engaging with deep learning AI and cybernetic Artificial Intelligence Insider threat Behavior analytics, and Zero-day, Zero Trust security solutions.
